Health Challenges Faced by Working Women

Women are known to be multitaskers with little or no attention towards their own self. As they try to maintain a balance between work and family, women have to face numerous
challenges and in trying to overcome them, they get prone to several health risks.

Women in UAE face health issues ranging from conditions like:

Infertility:

As per the Dubai Health Authority's (DHA) latest findings, around 50 percent of women in the UAE face issues pertaining to infertility. This majorly is caused by a shifting demographic trend coupled with late marriages, and consequently, late attempts to start a family.

Depression:

Women are three times more likely to suffer from depression than men in the UAE. As  women juggle the high demands of family, work and social responsibilities, they become  more prone to anxiety and depression but often do not ask for help.

Heart diseases:

One of the biggest reasons for heart diseases in an employee is stress.
Today, more women are working compared to before and there is a certain amount
of stress with maintaining work and balancing family life. Women must look out for
neck, jaw, chest, shoulder, upper back or abdominal discomfort, nausea or headedness
and/or pain in one or both arms as these are symptoms pointing towards heart
ailments.

Diabetes:

Working women are more prone to diabetes including migrants due to lack of regular  physical exercise, time, and an easily accessible and affordable high calorie diet. Corporate health checkup is the need of the hour with growing diabetes conditions in women especially in UAE.

Obesity:

Obesity rate in UAE working women is about double the world average. It is caused due  to poor diet and inactive lifestyle leading to weight gain, and high BMI. If not treated it can  lead to serious complications like heart disease, stroke, high BP, diabetes and cancer.
The reasons for aggravation vary from a busy schedule to staying in denial mode and  some of them take to home remedial measures.

On that note women in particular need to keep an eye on their physical and mental health. We need to do a better job of putting ourselves and our health higher on our own to do list. Regular health check ups ,timely intervention, and healthy lifestyle choices can help
tackle and prevent such issues and progress towards better
ment of women health in UAE.

corporate health check-up for women is a must have owing to the sedentary lifestyle in
UAE. Don
’t forget to get yourself assessed with a preventive health checkup from Indus
Health Plus.
